Here’s Nokia UK’s promo called ‘Meet the Nokia Lumia 930′. The angle here is that the 930 stays in the same position as various bits of background life change around it.

Bing Music identified the song as ‘Some Day’ by Annie Drury, with the end lyrics ‘ Some day, we can make it out OK’. Let’s hope the same happens for Nokia (mm) and Microsoft.

Microsoft have continued rolling out Windows Phone 8.1 to devices, along with Lumia Cyan which brings some extra improvement to Nokia Windows Phone devices. Microsoft have also begun rolling out a second update, for users already on the Windows Phone 8.1 preview, this update pushes the build number to 12400, and doesn’t have an official changelog; so expect it to be mostly bug fixes and stability improvements.

So far the Android 4.4.4 KitKat firmware update has only been released for three Sony Xperia phones: the Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact and Xperia Z Ultra. We would expect the update to come to the Xperia Z2 in due course, but we can’t be sure of Sony’s plans for the older Xperia Z series.

However, Australian carrier Optus may have given the first hint that the Android 4.4.4 update may indeed be heading to the Xperia Z. The update is listed on Optus’ “Android OS Tablet & Mobile Updates” page saying that the Android 4.4.4 update is in testing with an expected release in “mid to end July”.

Obviously this could be a mistake on Optus’ part; this kind of carrier information is never the most reliable source of information. However, there is always a slim chance of it being true. We’ll let you know if something comes of this.

Sony Mobile Germany will market the Xperia T3 as the “Xperia Style” in Germany. Deutsche Telekom will be the exclusive carrier for the Xperia Style, although it will be available SIM free at a recommended price point of €349. The Xperia Style will launch in August 2014 and will be available in all three colours (black, purple and white).Xperia Style

We’re not sure why Sony felt the need to change the name in one region, although this may have been driven by Deutsche Telekom. The Xperia T3 has a steel frame and measures 7mm in thickness, weighing 148g. Other specs include a 5.3-inch 720p IPS display, 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 chipset, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage, LTE support, 2500mAh sealed battery and 8MP Exmor RS camera.

Satya Nadella has sent a huge email to Microsoft employees. It mentions Nokia once where they’re stating the importance of responsibly making a market for Windows Phone. Nadella also emphasises the significance of Xbox – in other news, windows phone users are annoyed that Microsoft has delisted many of their Xbox titles for Windows Phone.
