This is one of those things that really makes one think. I had issues yesterday getting sound out to the speakers. Naturally I checked the connection and jumpers to see if the connection was loose. Not finding any of those things I started checking out the Realtek software and you know what I messed with all of different pre-set speaker setups but it did not work.  So out of sheer luck I decided to try the headphone setup and it worked from the beginning. I could play my DVD or music from the computer without any trouble at all.
