One of the products that Plantronics showed me at CES was their Gamecom headset, which coems in two different variants. one for 29.99 Euro and another one for 49.99 Euro. What I found interesting was that to make it an attractive bundle for the end users Plantronics is shipping a bundled game with the headset that you can download and install on your PC. They did not however have confirmation that this would be the same scenario for Mac users so I guess we have to wait and see on that one. The difference between these two is that one of them connects through a USB plug and the second one connects through 3.5 mm headphones jack. They told me that Plantronics was actually one of the first headphone manufacturers for the Xbox when it was launched and is actually now about to head back into business. if they can offer the same quality on all of their gaming headsets that they have on their bluetooth headsets I am sold.
Audio quality these headphones were really good – what surprised me was that these headphones really isolated the surrounding sound when I used them at the convention. If these headphones can isolate the surrounding sound from 200 000+ people that attended CES they really have something special here. They will come in either black or white.
