Kinect for Windows SDK beta has only been out a few months, but with the Kinect beeing out for a year it is celebrating that with launching beta 2 for Kinect.
This beta includes “faster skeletal tracking, a better accuracy rate when it comes to skeletal tracking and joint recognition, and the ability to plug and unplug your Kinect without losing work / productivity.”
To mark the milestone, the Kinect for Windows team is celebrating with our own milestones: We’re starting up this blog, launching the official Kinect for Windows web site, and releasing beta 2 of the Kinect for Windows SDK. (And, yes, we will celebrate the anniversary more this evening– it’s been an amazing journey these past months!)
Kinect for Windows looks to be on track for an early 2012 launch, and to date, aproximately 200 companies have agreed to be a part of the pilot program.
